We are a ‘data controller’ for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the EU General Data Protection Regulations. This means that we are responsible for, and control the processing of, any personal information we collect about you. We are committed to protecting your personal information and privacy.

Why we need your information and how we use it
We collect information from you in the following ways:
When you interact with us directly:
This could be if you ask us about out activities, register with us to book a room or an event in the Centre, make a donation to us, or become involved in activities in the Centre through volunteering opportunities or otherwise provide us with your personal information. This includes when you phone us, visit our website or get in touch via any means.
When you visit our website:
We don’t currently gather information on the pages you visit on our website or use that information in any way. We use ‘cookies’ to help run our site effectively. Further information on ‘cookies’ is available on our website.
Information we collect and how we use it
Personal information we collect includes details such as your name, postal address, email address, telephone number.
We will only use this information to:
- Process your application to hire our facilities
- To provide the service you have requested
- To respond to any enquiries you make about our facilities
- To comply with the requirements of the Charity
- Commission (to identify and verify supports who make major gifts)
- When you volunteer with us, to administer the volunteering arrangement
- When you apply for membership of the organisation.
- For general anonymised statistical purposes.
If you do not provide this information, we will not be able to process your donation, sign you up for a particular booking or event or provide the service you have requested.
We will not use your personal information for any other purpose.
We will not collect personal sensitive information (which includes information about health, race, ethnic origin etc)
Legal basis for using your information
We will only use your personal information where we have your consent or because we need to use it to fulfil a contract with you (for example you have booked a room in the centre)
There are lawful reasons that allow us to process your personal information and one of these is ‘legitimate interests’.
Wherever we process your information under the ‘legitimate interest’ lawful basis we make sure that we take into account your rights and interests.
A legitimate interest would be for example, where we contact you about our work via post, or use your personal information for data analytics, conducting research to better understand who our users are, improving our services, for our legal purposes (for example dealing with complaints) or for complying with guidance from the Charity Commission.
Marketing
We do not currently undertake any direct marketing, but we would only do so in the future where you have expressly agreed for us to contact you in this manner (for example via text or email)
Where you have provided a postal address, we are allowed to send information via post unless you have told us you would prefer not to hear from us.
Sharing your information
The personal information we collect from you will only be used by our staff and volunteers so they can support you in your specific dealings directly with us.
We will never sell or share your information, nor do we sell any information about your browsing activity.
Legal disclosure
We will only disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or to enforce the conditions of your contract with us.
Keeping your information safe
We take looking after your information seriously. We have implemented appropriate physical, technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we have under our control.
We only keep your personal information for as long as it is reasonable and necessary for the relevant activity (or in any event no longer than 12 months).

Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. This site only uses cookies to remember logged in users, and these cookies are deleted when your browser is closed.
